APLIKASI SISTEM TANAM JAJAR LEGOWO UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PRODUKTIVITAS PADI SAWAH APPLICATION OF JAJAR LEGOWO PLANTING SYSTEM TO INCREASE PADDY YIELD

Abstract


Pemerintah telah melakukan berbagai upaya untuk meningkatkan produksi padi pada skala nasional. Di sisi lain, petani sering dihadapkan pada berbagai kendala teknologi dalam usaha pertaniannya sehingga produksinya tidak optimal. Sistem tanam jajar legowo merupakan rekayasa teknologi untuk mengoptimalkan produktivitas padi melalui pengaturan populasi agar tanaman mendapatkan ruang tumbuh dan sinar matahari yang optimum. Tujuan pengkajian adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh aplikasi sistem tanam jajar legowo terhadap peningkatan produksi padi sawah. Pengkajian dilaksanakan di Desa Cigadog, Kecamatan Cisalak, Kabupaten Subang pada April hingga Juli 2013, menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok empat perlakuan dan enam ulangan, berturut-turut adalah: sistem tanam jajar legowo 2:1, 4:1, 5:1, dan sistem tanam tegel. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pengukuran dan pengamatan komponen pertumbuhan dan komponen hasil. Data dianalisis dengan sidik ragam dan dilanjutkan dengan uji DMRT pada taraf lima persen. Hasil: sistem tanam jajar legowo 2:1 mendapatkan hasil tertinggi dibandingkan dengan menggunakan sistem tanam lainnya, yaitu 6.08 ton per ha.

 Some efforts have been implemented by government in order to increase national paddy production. In the other side, farmers are often confronted with difficulties in application of various technologies in their farming system and hence the yields never meet optimum quantity. Jajar legowo planting system is a modified paddy planting techniques which is applied to optimize yield by arranging its planting distance so that every paddy clump receive wider growing space and optimum sunlight. Aim of research was to determine effect of jajar legowo planting system to increment of paddy yield. Research plots were located at Cigadog countryside, Cisalak, Subang in April up to July 2013. Research was designed by using Randomized Complete Block Design with four treatment, those were jajar legowo planting system 2:1, 4:1, 5:1, and tegel planting system. Each treatment consisted from six replications. Data collected by measurement and observation of growth variable and yield component, while data analysis were performed using analysis of variance followed by Duncan,s Multiple Range Test at level five percent. Result: jajar legowo planting system 2:1 yielded 6.08 ton per ha and was best treatment giving highest yield.
