PEMANFAATAN DEDAK PADI DAN JERAMI FERMENTASI PADA PENGGEMUKAN SAPI POTONG UTILIZATION OF RICE BRAN AND FERMENTED STRAW ON FATTENING BEEF CATTLE

Abstract


Sapi potong merupakan komoditas andalan di Jawa Barat yang kebutuhan dagingnya setiap tahun 521.000 ekor, sementara ketersediaannya 423.000 ekor. Masalahnya adalah ketersedian pakan, sehingga perlu inovasi teknologi jerami padi dan dedak dalam usaha penggemukan sapi. Tujuan: mengetahui tingkat pertambahan bobot badan dan nilai ekonomi penggunaan pakan limbah padi.  Penelitian dilaksanakan Juli hingga Desember 2011 di kelompok ternak Metal Sangkan Hurip, Desa Sukajaya, Sumedang. Data yang diamati:   tingkat konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan harian, tingkat keuntungan usaha, dianalisis menggunakan t-test. Hasil: rata-rata PPBH ternak yang diberi jerami fermentasi+ dedak padi lebih tinggi, 0,78 kg, jerami segar+dedak 0,70 kg, jerami fermentasi+konsentrat komersial 0,67 kg, dan jerami segar+konsentrat komersial 0,55 kg. Hasil analisis imbangan pendapatan atas biaya (B/C) 1,41 diperoleh hasil inovasi teknologi pakan jerami fermentasi + dedak padi, 1,37 untuk jerami segar + dedak padi, nilai yang sama dengan perlakuan jerami fermentasi + konsentrat komersil, dan 1,25 untuk jerami segar + konsentrat komersil.

Beef cattle is a commodity in meeting needs of meat consumption in West Java, whos needs meat reach 521,000 head per year, but only 423,000 head available. Therefore, used of local feed inovation for fattening cattle need to be done. Aim of this study was to determinate of gain beef cattle and the economic value with use of feed from waste rice, conducted in July up to December 2011 in Metal Sangkan Hurip farmer group at Sumedang. Thirty two PO cattle used with four treatments, namely  fresh straw  with commercial concentrates, fresh straw with rice bran, fermented straw with addition of commercial concentrates, and fermented straw with rice bran. Observed data include: consumtion feed level, average daily gain and rate of farm profits. Statistical test in analysis of research activities were significantly different ( t - test ). Result indicated that beff catlle   average daily gain treated fermented rice straw + rice bran were highest at 0.78 kg, fresh rice straw + rice bran  0.70 kg,  fermented rice straw + commercial concentrate 0.67 kg and fresh rice straw + concentrate commercial  0.55 kg . With result of B/C value 1,41 for fermented rice straw + rice bran, 1,37  for fresh rice straw + rice bran same with fermented rice straw + concentrate commercial, and 1,25 for fresh rice straw+commercial concentrate.
