Pengaruh Penambahan Abu Tempurung Kelapa Terhadap Kuat Tekan Beton Dengan Faktor Air Semen Tetap

The raw materials used for the manufacture of cement consist mainly of lime, silica, alumina, and iron oxide. Chemical analysis of coconut shell ash contains these elements. Therefore, coconut shell ash can be used effectively as an additive in concrete. Based on these reasons, it is necessary to do research on the effect of adding coconut shell ash to the compressive strength of concrete. The specimen used in this study was a 150 mm x 300 mm concrete cylinder. The percentages of addition of coconut shell ash were: 0%, 2.5%, 5%, 7.5%, and 10% by weight of cement and with a fixed water cement ratio (wcr). The number of specimens for each variation is 3, and the total number of specimens is 15. The tests carried out in this study were: slump test, compressive strength, absorption, and unit weight. From the results of this study, it was found that the addition of coconut shell ash increased the slump value and decreased the compressive strength of the concrete. The addition of coconut shell ash up to 5% reduces the absorption of concrete. The addition of coconut shell ash had no significant effect on the unit weight of the concrete.
