In addition to strengthening the concrete bond, plain iron bars, especially threaded ones, are also used to obtain lighter materials but have high tensile strength, which is expected to reduce construction costs. The increasing demand for plain and deformed concrete iron can be used in projects for housing construction, construction of buildings, etc., it is necessary to develop new material structures. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the cross- sectional area of the diameter of plain and screw steel on the mechanical properties of tensile strength, yield strength and elongation of plain and deformed steel. In this research, plain iron and screw diameter of 10 mm were used, then testing was carried out using the destructive test method, namely on a Tensile Testing Machine. The results showed that the Tension Modulus of elasticity of plain and threaded 10 diameter reinforcing steel KS brands were 515.919 N/mm2 and 523.734 N/mm2 . The lower yield stress σy (lower yield stress). The average stress of the landing area before actually entering the phase plastic deformation. The lower yield stress of reinforcing steel with a diameter of 10mm plain and screw brand KS is 678.066 N/mm2 and 675.889 N/mm2 Upper yield stress σ uy (upper yield stress). Calculation of Maximum Tensile Strength The maximum tensile strength (Fu) from the calculation obtained for the KS brand is 555.93 N/mm2. Calculation of Tensile Melting Stress The yield tensile stress (Fu) from the calculation obtained for the KS brand is 363.61 N/mm2. The calculation of the maximum strain (ɛMax) from the calculation is obtained for the KS brand of 33.17%.
