The Buntung River is a tributary that empties into the Bengawan Solo River across the administrative area of Sukoharjo Regency, which frequently overflows during the rainy season, causing flooding around river sections to residents' settlements. Flood events are said not to be a problem if they do not interfere with community activities, economic activities or development activities and activities carried out in the floodplain area.

Flood analysis using the unit-of-measurement hydrograph using the Collins method and river section simulation using HEC-RAS. Management of flood control construction implementation is also important in the implementation of construction development, especially in terms of implementation schedule, cost and time.

The design flood discharge used as input for the analysis uses the measured unit hydrograph of the Collins method with a Q25 of 21.92 m3/second. The results of the Q25 year simulation show that the Buntung River cannot accommodate runoff discharge, so it needs flood control. Handling floods by normalizing and repairing river embankments has a significant effect which can be seen after handling.
