KAJIAN KUAT GESER HORISONTAL CIRCULAR CASTELLATED STEEL BEAM WITH AND WITHOUT ADDING PLATES

ABSTRACT
In order to increase the quality in building structure aspect, it needs to be observed some aspects, like optimum aspect which include the using of the material as element of the structure building itself. In the development, steel construction technology introduces Circular Castellated Beam form that is steel beam profile with I-section which is hollowed on the body in a circle opening form. The next development is for accommodate the opening for duct and plumbing is developed into opening circular with adding plates. The unsuccessful structure which is happened on castellated beam based on the previous research commonly happens on the body area between two openings what is called by web-post. In this research, it is done theoretical investigation and experimental testing to observe horizontal movement phenomenon which is happened on web-post area. Test things which is used is profile steel I 150x75x5x7 mm which is modified into circular Castellated Beam with and without adding plates with 5 openings. The testing consists of bent load with 2 vertical point loads on cellular beam, and data which is used based on Rosette Reading, the tense 45o which is set on web-post. From the research result and the discussion found that horizontal movement tense from experimental test result shows that adding plates on web-post show that loading capacity and the horizontal shear strength is increased about 20 up to 30 percent.
