KAJIAN PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN SERAT BAMBU ORI TERHADAP KUAT TEKAN DAN KUAT TARIK BETON

ABSTRAK

 

The addition of fiber in concrete admixture has been proven be able to improve the concrete quality. There are many researches about fiber concrete has been done by using many fiber materials. Bamboo has great opportunity to be a fiber material in concrete admixture, because of its special characteristic. The price of Ori Bamboo is also usually cheaper than the other type of Bamboo. This research was experimental research of fiber concrete, which used the fiber of Ori Bamboo. The objective of this research was to study the impact of using the fiber of Ori Bamboo on the strength of concrete.

This research used normal mixing of concrete with additional fiber, which was made of Ori Bamboo. It has 0.5 mm thickness, 0.5 – 1 mm wide, and 2 cm length. The variations amounts of fiber are 1%, 1.5% and 2% of the total weight of cement. The test of compressive strength and tensile strength were done with standard cylinder, 28 days of age.

The result of this research shows that the higher percentage of fiber, the lower viscosity of admixture. The addition of fiber by 1%, 1.5%, and 2% give increasing of 17.85%, 16.45% and 3.14% of concrete compression strength, as well as  4.85%, 30.58% and 19.42% of concrete tensile strength.
