TINGKAT PELAYANAN FASILITAS PEDESTRIAN DI SIMPANG EMPAT KANTOR POS BESAR YOGYAKARTA

ABSTRACT

Post office four leg intersection is the center of trade and tourism that makes pedestrian facilities have high activities. At rush hour pedestrian queues frequently occur that cause a loss of time and reduce the comfort of pedestrians. The purpose of research is to determine the level of pedestrian facilities services currently using HCM 2000. Characteristics of pedestrians is an important factor in the planning and operation of the transportation system. The principles of pedestrian movement analysis based on the effective width of pedestrian, flow, speed, density, pedestrian space, and pedestrian flow ratio per capacity (V/C). The analysis showed that the existing level of service of pedestrian facilities, in 2014, was < C. Improvements made to relocate street vendors, bans motorcycle parking on the road pavement, creating  pedestrian street alternative paths, and pedestrian signs to restrict the group produces a level of service > C
